My Planet

What is MyPlanet?

MyPlanet was launched as an extension of the MySchool MyVillage fundraising programme, to provide you with the opportunity to support an environmental or animal welfare charity (“Planets”) that is close to your heart, without it costing you a cent. It’s the easiest way imaginable to make a difference in your community.

How does it work?

Get a free MyPlanet card online or at a nearest Woolworths store. Swipe your MyPlanet card every time you shop at any of our partners and they will donate a percentage of your purchase to your chosen “Planet” to aid their valuable work.

Over R1.2 million was raised for “Planets” in 2011, with the help of loyal supporters and outstanding partners. Together, we DID ONE THING for our planet... and we are not slowing down in 2012!

Why are we partnering with Cold Sweat?

This year we are proud to support our Woolworths MyPlanet Ambassador, Braam Malherbe, who is a part of the SA Team “Team Mission Possible” as he competes against 6 other teams in the race of the century – the Scott-Amundsen Race. Braam and his team mate Peter van Kets’ only mission as they race to the South Pole is to do one thing: raise awareness of climate change – and we are 100% behind them.

Climate change is an ever-looming environmental threat to our world – and we are fighting back by supporting individuals and organisations that are working hard to reduce climate change. Why the South Pole? The Arctic is seen as the “earth’s barometer”, and we agree. It is here where one can truly see the shifts in the weather and its harsh effects. Mother Nature is certainly not happy with the way human beings are treating the planet – our home. Conservation efforts are needed!

Here is a list of 12 "Planets" that are doing their part - and you can support them with your MyPlanet card today!
